Festival Objectives

The Plateau State Science, Technology and Innovation Festival(PLASSTIFEST) is designed to strengthen the science, technology, and innovation (STI) ecosystem by aligning creativity, research, and entrepreneurship with the State’s sustainable development agenda. The Festival seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • Promote Innovation and Research: Encourage the development and adoption of homegrown technologies that address local and global challenges in areas such as health, agriculture, energy, and environment.
  • Advance Sustainable Development: Promote environmentally responsible and inclusive technological solutions that contribute to economic growth and improved livelihoods.
  • Showcase the Impact of Science and Technology: Provide a platform for innovators, institutions, and entrepreneurs to display technological breakthroughs that are improving lives and driving productivity.
  • Foster Collaboration and Partnerships: Build stronger linkages among government agencies, academia, private sector, and the general public to accelerate the implementation of STI-driven policies and initiatives.
  • Empower Youth and Emerging Innovators: Inspire and equip young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and to contribute meaningfully to innovation and digital transformation.
  • Recognize Excellence in Innovation: Identify and reward outstanding inventors and innovators whose work contributes significantly to solving societal challenges.
